Businesses, Academics, NGOS, and the Government have stakes in society and all have an important role to play in promoting economic prosperity without compromising the fragile balance of the ecosystem. As all hands are on deck to get the UK out of the recession there is need for all stakeholders to work together to forestall another downturn- this time related to the environment. Sustainability has to be integrated in business practices not only because it is ethical but because it is also fast becoming an increasingly viable business model – This is paramount especially now that environmental issues are at the front burner and we’ve experienced the life-changing consequences of a recession.

These Young Minds is a social enterprise that will organise high powered and all inclusive (businesses, academics, government opinion shapers and NGOs) conferences around themes in Corporate Responsibility (CR). The outcomes of each conference will be disseminated to young people aged between 15-25 through innovative medias like dragon den scenario and ‘strictly come dancing’ like competition.

This free invaluable conference – “Stakeholders Unite Against the Environmental Crunch” at the University of Leicester, Percy Gee building on Tuesday 26th January 2010 between 14.00and 19.00 (link to maps to the University website : http://www.le.ac.uk/portals/maps/maps.html) will provide you with information on how partnerships shape innovation, and how businesses could flourish while raising the bar for social and environmental performance.
